PCS Phosphate awards MECS Inc. contract for acid plant with HRS
ST. LOUIS, MO – MECS Inc. was recently awarded the EPC contract with PCS Phosphate or a 4,500 standard tons per day (STPD) sulfuric acid plant with HRS.
The plant is under construction at the PCS plant site in Aurora, North Carolina. The new plant employs the latest HRS technology from MECS to maximize steam production.
The plant is expected to produce 508,000 pounds per hour of HP steam superheated to 750 degrees Fahrenheit and 203,000 pounds per hour of HRS steam. Construction of the plant is being performed by ABENCS of St. Louis. ABENCS is the former construction arm of MECS. PCS expects start up in fall 2009.
